Hello, hello. I have one class left in 14th grade, and then some finals. Which, if I think about them, get me a little stressed. 'Cause one of them is a 3,000 word schmangarang due on Tuesday. I'm kinda over those sorta things. I'll get through it. Maybe. I'm flying home on the 18th. I really don't want that to happen because I'll miss my friends, especially those who are seniors, so I'll never see them again except when I do. I really do want that to happen, though, because it will mean I'm done with finals. And I'll be able to see you guys at home. Well, those of you that are at home. Rachael is here right now. Here as in Middlebury. Let's talk about that, shall we?

2306 words in my head, 2306 words...
Hello, fellow students and friends. If you in a position similar to my own, you are tired but proud, after a semester’s worth of hard work. If you are in a position dissimilar to my own, you probably just thought, “Nope! Not I!” And if you are in a position neither similar nor dissimilar to my own, I will be ignoring you.

Sympathy for the Devil
STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS START NEXT WEEK.
Earlier this week, the Ducks claimed their second ever Pacific Division title and clinched the second seed in the West. In the next two days, the standings will sort themselves out and the Ducks' first round opponent will be revealed. It's gonna be San Jose, Detroit, Minnesota, or Columbus. If it's San Jose, Jason, you should probably/definitely spend all the money you have in your pocketses and go to a game with Amanda.
On to less important things, like school.

Last Friday Night
Okay, so I am starting this blog at 11:53 PM EST, aka this
will be a short post. Just got back from
my fraternity’s spring semi-formal. It
was fun, and I’m glad I went, though the college drinking bull reared his
head. Like he generally does. I’m just not usually there to witness it. However, all in all it was a fun Friday night
with dancing and hanging out. When I
returned to my dorm, I bought a dozen Krispy Kremes for $8 (which the girls’
rugby team was selling), which I think was definitely a fair trade.

El Nombre del Viento, and Vlogging ftw
Well,
I’ve prepared my first vlog for your viewing pleasure. Understand that there is a thick layer of
sarcasm coating it. As in I don’t
actually feel left out or anything. The
rest of it is pretty accurate. Get ready
for magic.

The Ignorant Edema
You know what's funny about starting off a sentence with "You know what's funny about x"? It's just that, if you don't know what's funny about x you really don't have anywhere to go with that sentence. I say this only because I started typing "You know what's funny about" and I didn't really have anything in mind, so I just wrote this circuitous little justification for me starting out like that. Now I suppose I can get on with things that are actually things.

The last time anybody made a list of the top hundred character attributes of New Yorkers, common sense snuck in at number 79.
There comes a time once in every runner's life when he forgets what it is like not to be acquainted with the sport. More specifically, there comes a time once in every runner's life when he forgets what it is like not to be acquainted with people who wear very short shorts and think that it's perfectly normal. And for those not aware, I ought to inform you that I am using a very liberal definition of the word "once." But more on that in a minute. We're taking the chronological route for this one.

More Than a Feeling
![]() |
| Yes Rachael, this is us racing two days ago. |
On Saturday I participated in the Open New England Cross Country race in, surprise, Boston. I say "participated" because it would be inaccurate to say "raced." This is because I was, and indeed still am, rather sick, and therefore ran an awful time. So I'm not going to talk about that. Or the fact that Austin beat me by three and a half minutes. Honestly, if I was healthy, he would have still probably beat me by at least half a minute. But anyways, I think Rachael demanded some pictures of us. Unfortunately, I forgot about this request. Sorry. Just imagine the two of us in a sweaty embrace. Or look at the year-old picture that you've already been looking at 'cause it's right in front of you, and pretend we're wearing racing singlets. One other item of note regarding Austin: he hasn't shaved since he got to Wesleyan a month ago, so he has this disgusting (or cute, whichever tickles your fancy) goatee that he's really fond of.
